The Philippine Embassy in Athens held activities to celebrate the Migrant Workers’ Day on 05 June 2022. One was having a passport renewal service and the other a bowling tournament spearheaded by the Embassy’s POLO/OWWA.

A migrant worker from Northern Greece was the first to avail of passport renewal services. Ms. Jovelyn Tagura, a housekeeper and room attendant at a hotel in Thessaloniki, has been working in Greece for more than eleven years. She was very happy for the opportunity to renew her passport on her free day as she missed the chance to renew her passport when the Embassy’s team conducted a consular mission last month in Northern Greece. A total of 10 applicants were served during the special Sunday service. Embassy’s Philippine Overseas Labor Office and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration organized a bowling tournament for Migrant Workers’ Day with the theme "Araw ng Pasasalamat". Over 100 members of the Filipino Organizations in Greece participated in the event. The winners were Ms. Celerina Harisco, 2nd runner up; Ms. Anabel Renconada, 1st runner up; and Mr. Allan Vincent Pesigan, capped as the champion of the bowling tournament.
